WEEKEND MOOD BOARD AND AN ART FAIR

My sister Anika and I spent the weekend at Manila Art and at the local furniture and D.I.Y shops sourcing for the right home accessory so we could start putting our humble apartment into place. Totally different from our big house in the province, we’re both quiet excited on how it’ll look especially after a coat of eggshell white paint from the supply store nearby.

Creating your own mood board is a good way to get inspired, keep track of ideas, and visualize how your room will look

We are hoping we can at least spruce up the whole space a bit in the next 4 weeks so we can get some huge framed paintings installed.

Now, where to buy a new carpet for the living room?

NEW YEAR AND BOO HOO TO DEBBIE DOWNER

A big HEY to 2010, moving in to my new space in Makati ( which I believe is way better than my current space at the Fort) and I’m finally getting rid of Debbie Downer and those that no longer make any sense.

Anyway, summer is near and soon malls in the metro will again be invaded by people trying to beat the burning heat of the tropics.

Frolicking in the park, nah! My idea of a day at the park includes laying down on the grass and eating grapes, cheese and drinking wine, tailored shorts, a nice comfortable cotton shirt and espadrilles.

Why wait for summer when you can do it now and please, no making of flower crowns.

Happy New Year ya'll!

MOVING OUT AND ROISIN MURPHY

I’m finally moving out of my pad next month and moving in to a new space nearby with my sister. I want to keep my space simple, artsy chic (probably a mini art gallery ) and spacious with a couple of key pieces ( Vintage finds from Cubao Expo, Evangelista and Retiro). An easy way to liven up your wall is to put all your favorite pictures into little clip frames and then group them together.

The image above from Danielle de Lange shows a great selection of simple photo frames with black and white photos. Ikea in Makati, the Landmark, Rustans and Dimensione sells a good selection of frames.

Side note: currently listening to Night of the dancing flame. Roisin Murphy is love!

IKEA DIY

My trip to Mark Ramos' Ikea warehouse in Makati over the weekend( Thanks to Cecile for posting it on her blog) revealed a lot of great things waiting to be purchased by me. The store itself is a magic den with cost-efficient build-it-yourself surprises, I can’t wait to go back. I describe the whole experience like going on a field trip way better than the outlet in Quezon City. Great thing prices here and abroad are almost comparable, thank god! Definitely driving back when I get to move into my new pad before the end of the year.
