BRAIN DEAD MONDAY

Before my head explodes, here's all the news that I have been scrambling to find time to blog about:

•A new closet
Photobucket

•Vintage shopping

•Theodores
Photobucket

•I Love You Store ( they have the best Sagada Coffee)
Photobucket

•Hole in the wall café’s like ‘cookbook kitchen’ in Luna Mencias, San Juan, Kusina Gayuma in Gilmore and that nameless Korean hideout in Gen Malvar St, Malate.

In closing, I'm open to any and all advice on these issues. My brain is simply swimming!

I WANT YOO

My apologies for missing out a lot lately, I have been pretty much buried with a lot of work from press releases to media interviews. Here are some random snaps from indie designer Hayden Yoo.

DREAMY INDIE MUSIC: NATHAN MCKEE

Photobucket
I’m currently running with the rainbow unicorns and catching pokemon while listening to Nathan McKee's music, a track that beautifully layers organic and looped sound elements, traversing its way through an experimental wonderland.

Nathan W. McKee is an American musician from Portland, Oregon.

Below are photos taken by photographer Julia Fullerton-Batten.

ON WOODEN HANGERS AND SOME CLOSET SPACE

There are a few things I am kind of anal about, one being my closet. And one of the easiest ways to pull together the look of this space is to make a small investment and purchase uniform wooden hangers ( Thanks to Make Room and Ikea). Using all the same hangers is the second best thing to do for your closet and it's so much easier on the eyes and mind.

BELLAGIO SQUARE : THE HEART OF BOHEME MANILA

As Manila comes alive in a blaze of multi-colored lights when the night falls, there is always something to keep you entertained with the profusion of lively karaoke lounges, bars with live bands, restaurants offering contemporary Filipino, Malay, Chinese, Greek, Hindi and Continental cuisine. And strategically located in the heart of Malate, Manila’s bohemian district, almost at the corner of Jorge Bocobo and Pedro Gil streets, is Bellagio Square.

The old parking lot has given way to Bellagio Square, the newest event place. It now houses a colorful kaleidoscope of restaurants, bars, entertainment spots, beauty and wellness centers - a veritable whirlwind for the senses, all under one roof.

The opening of Bellagio Square marks a defining moment in what Malate has to offer in terms of dining experience. Its welcoming ambience is complemented with large airy premises framed with a high metal structured ceiling. An open courtyard in the middle of it all, gives patrons the choice of breezy open-air dining under the stars, or the cool shade of giant umbrellas and palm trees. A mini stage allows for opportunities for entertainment, programs and events for parties and company events.

Bellagio Square is a delightful mix of traditional and new world sophistication, a reminder of Malate’s bohemian past , combined with the charm of modern Manila.

Dining at Bellagio Square is a real gastronomic adventure. There is a rich variety of food that will surely excite one’s taste buds ! Choose from: authentic Hong-Kong food and dessert at Yin Lok Kui, Korean shabu-shabu at NAHA, Persian kebab at Simorgh, traditional Greek cuisine at Hellas Taverna, cocktails at KOI, the famous paella valenciana at Patio Guernica and healthy frozen yogurt at Whiteberry.

Also, at Bellagio Square are Mi and Me, a nail art salon cum fashion boutique manned by Taiwanese-trained staff, Tony and Jackey, the trendy Korean beauty salon and Bioessence skin, slimming and spa for more pampering.

On Fridays and Saturdays, Bellagio Square comes more alive with performances from the country’s celebrated performers like Jimmy Bondoc and up-and-coming bands, like Emerge.

For dining, entertainment or just pampering, experience all these at Bellagio Square, the newest event center in Manila.

BASIC MATTER 5: NAVY COAT

Classic navy two-button coat, light shoulder padding with waist pockets - The navy coat is one of the staple items of any man's wardrobe. You can never go wrong with it since it goes with all colors and can be dressed up for the office or dressed down on a lazy weekend afternoon paired with tailored shorts or jeans, It just looks very preppy that way.
